01

What is a business credit report?

A business credit report brings together information about a legal company to support customer, supplier and credit reviews. It can include company identity, financial statements, a credit score, a recommended limit, ownership and payment experiences. The sections available depend on the country, company and underlying sources.

02

What data can I review in a company credit report?

Our anonymised example includes a legal profile, credit summary, score and limit histories, trade payment information, registered charges, five-year financial statements, ratios, corporate relationships, shareholders, directors and filings. It also includes employee history and enquiry trends. Confirm coverage for the company and markets you need.

03

What is the difference between a credit score and a credit limit?

The company credit score summarises the assessment. The recommended credit limit provides a reference amount for trade credit exposure. They answer different questions and can change separately. Review both with the supporting financial information, existing exposure, order value and your own credit policy.

04

Can I see historical credit scores and recommended limits?

The example report contains dated histories for both measures. This helps a team see changes rather than relying on a single headline value. The Company Credit Check page shows the five latest entries from the anonymised report, with the assessment date and recommended limit for each entry.

05

Do the reports include company financial statements?

Where available, reports can include profit and loss, balance sheet, capital and reserves, historical financials and financial ratios. The example shows five annual periods in GBP, including turnover, EBITDA, cash, working capital, assets and liabilities. Financial depth depends on local disclosure rules and the company’s filings.

06

Can I review a company’s trade payment experiences?

Trade payment information is included where coverage is available. It can group invoice experiences by payment age and provide context on the available sample. These experiences come from selected third-party partners and are separate from registry financial statements; they do not represent every invoice a company receives.

07

Can I review shareholders, directors and group structure?

Available reports can show disclosed shareholders, share classes and capital, corporate group relationships, current and previous directors and appointment information. These sections help your team understand the business behind the contracting entity. Ownership and director disclosure varies by jurisdiction, and a group relationship does not establish a parent guarantee.

08

What do mortgages and charges tell me about a company?

Registered charge records provide information about security interests, including relevant dates, the security type and available status details. A count of charge records alone does not tell you how many remain outstanding. Review the individual records and available satisfaction information before drawing a conclusion.

09

How do I judge how current the company information is?

Check the accounts period, filing date, report generation date and the dates of any credit assessments separately. A newly generated report can contain financial statements from an earlier period. Ask about the source and update frequency for the specific fields your credit or procurement process requires.

10

How can my team access business credit information?

Discuss individual company reports for manual reviews, API access for existing applications, MCP access for compatible AI assistants and agents, bulk data for portfolios, and monitoring for supported company changes. Start with your required countries, company list, fields and intended use so our team can confirm coverage and an appropriate access arrangement.
